The 'Battleship Island' actor admits that he's just like 'any other couples when it comes to love' and says that he was very nervous when he was about to propose to Hye Kyo.

AceShowbiz - Song Joong Ki has finally spoken up about his proposal to Song Hye Kyo. The "A Werewolf Boy" star, who will be getting married to the actress in October, reminisced about the day he asked his girlfriend to marry him.

Although he portrayed suave and romantic characters on his dramas, Joong Ki was still nervous. "I just remember being very nervous. I might be an actor who gains a lot of attention from many people but I'm no different than any other couples when it comes to love," he revealed during an appearance on "Entertainment Weekly". "There wasn't anything too special. But it was special for us."

The "Nice Guy" star then shared that Cha Tae Hyun had expected him and Hye Kyo to get married. "I actually told him about our marriage long before but he said, 'I already knew it. I was expecting it.' He had a firm grasp of the whole situation," Joong Ki said.

Prior to this, it was reported that Joong Ki proposed to Hye Kyo in Japan. "I heard from my friend who was working at the restaurant that [Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo] came with their staff and that they held an event there," a source revealed. "I heard that Song Hye Kyo cried after the event. I was waiting for them to announce their wedding. I'm not sure if the proposal happened this day but there was definitely an event that day."

Joong Ki and Hye Kyo started dating in 2015 when they were filming "Descendants of the Sun". The two decided to keep their relationship secret for two years before announcing their wedding last month.
