AceShowbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are using their friendship for a good cause. The "Revolutionary Road" co-stars are auctioning off a private dinner with them at this year's auction gala hosted by the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation.
A lucky bidder will have a chance to dine with Leo and Kate sometime in October or November at a place that the two choose in New York City. Money from the auction will support Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation as well as a GoFundMe campaign that Kate has been involved with. The campaign aims to help a young mother named Gemma Nuttal pay for her cancer treatment.
Lenny Kravitz will perform at the star-studded gala which will be held on July 26 in St. Topez, France. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo will be awarded with New World Leadership Award for her "innovative approach to making Paris a model for sustainable urban living and design." Last year, the auction raised $45 million and was attended by Tobey Maguire, Bono, Chris Rock, Mariah Carey, Bradley Cooper, Naomi Campbell, Edward Norton and Jonah Hill.
It's no surprise that Leo and Kate are collaborating for the gala as they've been supporting each other for 20 years. "In a lot of ways, Kate and I have really grown up in this industry together," the 42-year-old actor once said while promoting his movie "The Aviator" back in 2004. "We've been a support mechanism for each other for such a long period of time. We've been there for each other and helped guide each other."
Kate, meanwhile, didn't hesitate to express her love for him when she won an award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards. "Leo, I'm so happy I can stand here and tell you how much I love you and how much I've loved you for 13 years," she said, before adding, "I love you with all my heart, I really do."
