AceShowbiz - You don't have to wait until the fall to find out Elliot's fate after the season 2 finale cliffhanger. "Mr. Robot" has released the first look at its third season via Entertainment Weekly, featuring Rami Malek's lead character alive and well. He's seen standing in a room full of hackers.
When we last saw him, Elliot was bleeding out from a gunshot. Creator and executive producer Sam Esmail says, "I never intended to have the question of his condition be lingering between seasons 2 and 3. We respect the audience too much to leave that as a cliffhanger."
On what to expect from the upcoming season, Esmail dishes, "Season 3 is about Elliot trying to bounce back and fight against the people who have been using him. Elliot isn't going to take this lying down." He adds that the central theme for season 3 is disintegration.
The 10-episode season 3 of "Mr. Robot" will premiere in October, but the exact date is yet to be announced.
