The 'La La Land' actress says, 'In my career so far, I've needed my male co-stars to take a pay cut so that I may have parity with them.'

AceShowbiz - Emma Stone discusses pay gap in Hollywood in her interview with the latest issue of Out magazine which she graces the front page with her "Battle of the Sexes" co-star Andrea Riseborough. The "La La Land" beauty credits her male co-stars for willing to take pay cuts so she could get equal salary.

"In my career so far, I've needed my male co-stars to take a pay cut so that I may have parity with them," she reveals. "And that's something they do for me because they feel it's what's right and fair, so that's something that's also not discussed, necessarily - that our getting equal pay is going to require people to selflessly say, 'That's what's fair.' "

Of her role as tennis star Billie Jean King in her upcoming movie, the actress says, "She's such a coach and she knows sports psychology, and she instantly reduced it to playing catch, so I got to feel like a golden retriever running after a ball, and just making sure the ball was in front of my face. What was incredible is that she found my strengths and she played to those. She found out instantly that I like to dance and I could move my feet, and that's was our jumping off point."

Meanwhile, her co-star Riseborough criticizes the new "Baywatch" movie on the issue of today's current battle of the sexes, "Sometimes I feel like we have got a long way to go. Women are seriously, highly-sexualized. Just look at the Baywatch posters. We have to be real about the fact that we're in 2017 and everyone's so excited that we put out a superhero movie starring a woman."
