FOX Sets Fall Premiere Dates for 'The Orville', 'Empire' and More

'The Orville', the new sci-fi dramedy starring Seth MacFarlane, gets post-NFL push before airing in its regular Thursday timeslot with 'Gotham'.

AceShowbiz - FOX has revealed its fall 2017 premiere dates, joining CBS and NBC in launching the vast majority of its lineup during the traditional premiere week which starts on September 25. "The Orville", however, will have an earlier debut with two-part series on premiere September 10 and 17. Both will get an NFL boost.

The space dramedy stars Seth MacFarlane will then move to its regular Thursday, 9 P.M. timeslot beginning September 28, following the season 4 premiere of "Gotham" at 8 P.M. "Lethal Weapon", "The Mick" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will return on Tuesday, September 26, while "Empire" and "Star" will debut their new seasons on Wednesday, September 27.

"Hell's Kitchen" and "The Exorcist" season premieres are set for Friday, September 29. "Bob's Burgers", "The Simpsons" "Family Guy" and "The Last Man on Earth" will be joined by new paranormal comedy "Ghosted" when they return on Sunday, October 1.

The network delays the return of "Lucifer" and the premiere of new Marvel series "The Gifted" by a week to avoid the season premieres of "The Voice" on NBC and "The Big Bang Theory" on CBS, which will be followed by its spin-off "Young Sheldon". FOX's Monday rollout will be launched on October 2.
