Titled 'Pax Penguina', the title may refer to Gotham City's new trouble as the Penguin takes control over the criminal underworld.

AceShowbiz - The title of the first episode of "Gotham" season 4 has been unveiled. Writer/executive producer John Stephens has taken to his Twitter account to share a picture of the 4x01 script, which reveals an intriguing title for the episode.

It is revealed that the first episode of the FOX series' season 4 is called "Pax Penguina." Stephens is credited as the writer, while Danny Cannon is credited as the director of the episode. Stephens writes on the caption, "What the heck. Let's do it again. #gotham."

Penguina in the title clearly refers to the iconic villain Penguin, a.k.a. Oswald Cobblepot. Meanwhile, "Pax Penguina" is a playword to Latin phrase "Pax Romana," a term which roughly translates into "Roman Peace." As the phrase takes on connotation of an uneasy or hostile peace imposed on a weaker force by a stronger one, it may be safe to assume that the episode will see Gotham City in a new trouble as Oswald takes control over the criminal underworld.

It may also hint at the reunion of Oswald and Riddler, although things are rocky between the two. Another speculation is the title may refer to the calm before a war erupts between Oswald's new nightclub Iceberg Lounge, which in season 3 finale he planned to open, and rival The Sirens.

Official premiere date of "Gotham" season 4 hasn't been announced yet, though it will take the Thursdays at 8 P.M. slot on FOX.
