TV

The two-hour premiere of the zombie series shocks the world with a sudden death of one of the main characters and fans assume that the potential killer might be a new face on the series.

AceShowbiz - "Fear the Walking Dead" was coming off strong with its two-hour season 3 premiere, which aired tonight, June 4. [SPOILER ALERT!] The action-packed premiere saw the long-awaited reunion between Madison with her son, Nick. However, amid the horrifying and twisted militia camp, where everyone was more than ready to kill them, the joy surely didn't last long. The second episode of the zombie apocalypse series, which aired right away after the first episode, saw one of the main characters shockingly getting killed.

Travis, Madison and Alicia were brought to a military base, in which they reunited with Nick. Travis put his brutal willingness to survive on display and plotted an escape. Travis escaped alongside Alicia with a helicopter piloted by newcomer Jake Otto. However, Travis was struck in the neck by a bullet which came out of nowhere. To avoid having to turn in front of his daughter, he decided to jump out of the helicopter and onto the rocky hills below. Now, the remaining question is who killed Travis?

Fans assume that it will have something to do with the new villain, who will be introduced in the season. There is not much known about the character, except for it being an evil female character.

Showrunner Dave Erickson told ComicBook.com about the new character during an appearance on "After the Dead" following the season 2 finale. "There's gonna be a new prominent character, who we're gonna meet south of the border, who is going to have an impact on Nick and Luciana, and Strand most likely," Erickson said.

He continued, "She will become somebody, I think, who can rival any of the powerful characters we've had on the show or will have on the show. The idea is to create opposing forces on either side of the border and see what happens when they end up in conflict and what happens if our family is on opposite sides of the conflict."

Danay Garcia, who plays Luciana, also dished on the villain in a recent interview. "I'm really looking forward to it, because you know what? I honestly think that every time somebody makes somebody evil, the really truth is that they are really not that evil," the actress said. "They just have their reasons, that they're making decisions based on their own issues. If you really go down--deep, deep, deep down--they're people that are just doing the best they can," she added.

She went on saying, "Obviously it's not a good thing, but I'm really interested in seeing this character and how they're going to make her and turn her into what. And what are her choices and decisions? And based on what? I want to see them together. I want to see how Luciana, if I get to meet her, would deal with this situation. It's not just a male, it's a woman. It's a villain. It's whatever it is that she's going to be. I don't know, but it would be amazing."

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 airs on Sundays at 9 P.M. on AMC.
