Josh Gad Teases His Meeting With DC, Fueling The Penguin Rumor
Movie

The 'Beauty and the Beast' actor has taken to his Twitter account to share a picture of him holding Batman comic book and standing between Geoff Johns and Jon Berg from DC.

AceShowbiz - Josh Gad brought up the discussion about his Penguin casting rumor again on Friday, June 2. The "Beauty and the Beast (2017)" actor took to his Twitter account to share a picture of him with Geoff Johns and Jon Berg from DC Extended Universe. In addition, the photo saw Gad showing off a Batman comic book with The Penguin on the cover. Ever since Gad posted the picture, the speculation that he will play Penguin in future DC movies has buzzed around the internet again.

The rumor stemmed from a cryptic image of The Penguin posted by Gad last May. Gad later reacted by saying that he just wanted to have fun with the image. "Just having some fun," Gad said. "Just having some fun! Really, I promise! There's nothing to...there's no there there. The internet just goes wild. I'm just having some fun putting things out there," he added.

However, the fact that he recently met up with Geoff Johns and Jon Berg only made fans wonder whether he would really be a part of DC Extended Universe after all. Some people believed Gad would really play the character someday, but some speculated that he just wanted to make fun and troll fans all over again.

In the comics, The Penguin, who is also known as Oswald Cobblepot, is depicted as a Gotham City mobster. The description in DC site reads, "This is a villain fueled by a pathological rage that compels him to turn his odd physique, bird-like profile and awkward waddle into a well-dressed force for fear." The Penguin always gladly welcomes the opportunity to bring down Batman.

Some actors who portrayed The Penguin in the past included Burgess Meredith and Danny DeVito. DeVito's The Penguin was the main antagonist of Tim Burton's "Batman Returns", in which DeVito starred alongside Michael Keaton (Batman) and Michelle Pfeiffer (Catwoman).
