Griffin hires a lawyer, claiming that she was bullied by the First Family and received death threats following the gory Trump photo.

AceShowbiz - Kathy Griffin held a press conference following her controversial Donald Trump photo. Accompanied by her lawyer Lisa Bloom, the comedienne told reporters that the President and his family were making it their mission to ruin her career.

"If you don't stand up, you get run over," Griffin said. "What's happening to me has never happened in this great country. A sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the first lady are personally trying to ruin my life forever." She added, "You guys know him, he's not going to stop."

According to her attorney, she hired a lawyer after she was contacted by the Secret Service. "As a result of the first family bullying her, she has been vilified, getting death threats, fired from multiple jobs and had multiple events canceled," the attorney said.

Griffin said she was fearful for her life. "The threats that I am getting are ... detailed and they are specific. And today it's me, but tomorrow it might be you," she cried. "I don't think I'll have a career after this. I'm going to be honest, he broke me."

She lost an endorsement deal with Squatty Potty, a line of bathroom footstools, and some of her stand-up gigs were canceled. She was also fired from CNN's New Year's Eve gig with Anderson Cooper. She called the termination "hurtful." She believed she received harsher backlash because she was female. "This is a woman thing," she said.

She regretted the bloody photo, but she vowed to continue criticizing the President. "I'm not good at being appropriate," she said. "I'm only good at doing comedy one way. It's in your face. I'm going to make fun of the president. And I'm going to do it more now."
