While the 'Zoolander' stars have made 'the decision to separate,' they will continue raising their two children as 'devoted parents and the closest friends.'

AceShowbiz - Ben Stiller and wife Christine Taylor are calling it quits after 17 years of marriage, according to a new report from ET. The shocking split broke on Friday, May 26, with the couple announcing the news in a joint statement to the news outlet.

"With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate," the statement read. "Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends. We kindly ask that the media respect our privacy at this time." The couple didn't reveal the reason behind their split, though.

Stiller and Taylor, who first met when filming a never-aired TV pilot titled "Heat Vision and Jack", tied the knot in 2000 at an oceanfront ceremony in Kauai, Hawaii. "When I met her, I pretty much thought, 'That's the person,' " Ben told the news outlet in a 2007 interview. "It was like, 'Wow, this is a great person. I love her.' "

Throughout their marriage, Stiller and Taylor starred together in "Zoolander" and "Zoolander 2", in which they played love interests, 2004's "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" and 2008's "Tropic Thunder". They share two children together named Ella Olivia, 15, and Quinlin Dempsey, 11.
