Johnson says that people may want to see 'a better leadership today' and that he has become a kind of person people can relate to.

AceShowbiz - Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has addressed recent report about his potential 2020 presidential run. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", "The Fate of the Furious" actor says that he is amazed by the "surge and the groundswell" of attention given to him since he mentioned that there would be a "real possibility" that he would run for president sometime in the near future.

"I'm so incredibly flattered. There's a national poll that just came out this past week that brought together Republicans and Democrats, saying that I would beat Donald Trump if we had an election today to become President Trump," says Johnson. "I've really been blown away. It's so flattering," he adds.

Johnson later says that people may want to see "a better leadership today" and that he has become a kind of person people can relate to. "I get up early in the morning at a ridiculous hour, I go to work, and spend time with the troops, I take care of my family, I love taking care of people. I think that kind of thing really resonates with people, especially today," Johnson explains.

Of whether or not Johnson will run in 2020, he says, "Three-and-a-half years is a long ways away, so we'll see."

Johnson started considering the prospect of a presidential run after reading an article in Washington Post, which said that he could make a viable candidate. "A year ago it started coming up more and more," he said. "There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, 'Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.' "
