While the vast majority of the cast says that they have no idea who shot Fred, Madelaine Petsch surprisingly reveals that she knows who is the perpetrator.

AceShowbiz - Fans were sent into frenzy when Luke Perry's Fred was shot in "Riverdale" season 1 finale. The shocking scene left a big question to fans whether or not Fred will die after being shot by a masked man in Pop's.

While showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed that Luke would be featured in season 2 premiere, he refused to give a further detail. In an interview with E! News during The CW's upfront presentation in New York on Thursday, May 18, the cast members weighed in on Fred's fate on the series.

KJ Apa, who portrayed Archie, said, "We got the script the night before we started shooting." He continued, "Fred living or dying is still unclear. Whether or not he does live or die, Archie's life is about to change, for sure."

Cole Sprouse was also in the dark about Fred. "I don't really have any comfort to give them about Fred truthfully, unfortunately," he shared. "I wish I could sit here and be like, 'He'll be OK!' But I don't know," the Jughead depicter added.

Marisol Nichols assumed that her character, Hermione, would suspect her imprisoned husband (Mark Consuelos) had something to do with Fred being shot. While Ashleigh Murray and the vast majority of the cast said that they had no idea who shot Fred, Madelaine Petsch revealed that she knew who was the perpetrator. Making a lip-sealed gesture, the actress refused to spoil the story.

As for Perry himself, he had a theory about who may have shot his character and said that he trusted his showrunner. He said, "I have a lot of trust in him. I'm happy to go wherever he takes me. If he kills me, he kills me. If he don't, he don't!"

"Riverdale" season 2 will air on Wednesdays at 8 P.M. this fall on The CW.
