James Cromwell, who will make an appearance in 'Jurassic World 2', reveals that his character is linked to one of the most important characters in 'Jurassic Park'.

AceShowbiz - "Jurassic World" movie series may not have the same timeline with "Jurassic Park", but the movie seemingly will tie to "Jurassic World 2" at some point. In an interview on "Larry King Now", "Jurassic World 2" actor James Cromwell opened up about his role as Benjamin Lockwood in the movie and revealed how his character was connected with a certain character in "Jurassic Park".

Cromwell said that Lockwood was a partner to John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), the creator of the land of dinosaurs. "The character Richard Attenborough played (in 'Jurassic Park'), I'm his partner, Benjamin Lockwood," explained Cromwell. "We developed the technology of being able to clone the genes and so I am trying to deal with the blowback from what we have done," he added.

Although Hammond and Lockwood were once partners, the latter never appeared in "Jurassic Park" movie series. His name was never mentioned either. This sparked speculation that Hammond and Lockwood had a rift, hence no details about his character back then. The detail about their relationship may be brought up in the upcoming "Jurassic World 2".

"Jurassic World 2" is set to hit U.S. theaters on June 22, 2018. Recently, "Jurassic Park" alum Jeff Goldblum was announced to reprise his role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the movie. Plot detail is still kept under wraps, but lead actor Chris Pratt said that the sequel would be darker and scarier than its predecassor.

Also starring in the movie are Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, B.D. Wong and Toby Jones.
