'The Bachelor' Star Chris Soules Is 'Devastated' After Car Crash That Killed One Man

The reality TV star was arrested after leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in his neighbor's death, but has been released from jail on $10,000 bail.

AceShowbiz - Former "The Bachelor" star %cChris Soules% was involved in a fatal car crash that killed one man. The 35-year-old has been accused of leaving the scene of an accident, and was later arrested on Tuesday morning, April 25.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Chris rear-ended his pickup truck into a tractor near Aurora, a northeast Iowa town located about 15 miles south of Soules' farm in Arlington and 65 miles north of Iowa City, on Monday night at around 8 P.M. Both the truck and the tractor were driven into a ditch, resulting in the death of the tractor driver, 66-year-old Kenneth Mosher.

Iowa State Patrol spokesman Sgt. Scott Bright told the Register that Chris left the crash scene on foot headed northbound. When police came to a home he was present at, Chris allegedly refused to leave until officers obtained a search warrant several hours later. Chris, who competed in season 20 of "Dancing with the Stars", was booked on Tuesday at 1:16 A.M.

Chris appeared in court on Tuesday morning and was charged with leaving the scene of a car crash that left one individual dead. Court documents revealed that he was allegedly in possession of alcoholic beverages and containers at the time of the accident.

He has been released from jail after posting $10,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 P.M. on May 2. He faces up to five years in prison if found guilty for a Class D felony.

His representative, Stan Rosenfield, has released a statement which reads, "Chris Soules was involved in an accident Monday evening (April 24) in a rural part of Iowa near his home. He was devastated to learn that Kenneth Mosher, the other person in the accident, passed away. His thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Mosher's family."
