AceShowbiz - Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are finally expecting their first child after being married to each other for eight years. The couple "has never been more excited" as they are busy preparing for parenthood.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Spencer recalled the time when Heidi told him about the pregnancy. "The look on her face, I can't even describe it. She was literally glowing. I thought she was about to say she made muffins or banana bread," he said. "Heidi said, 'I'm pregnant.' And I was like, 'Whoa, that's way more exciting than banana bread!' " Spencer continued. Heidi revealed that she felt "overwhelmed," saying, "I started crying and he embraced me."
When asked about why they waited so long before trying to have a baby, the two stated that there were a lot of obstacles. "I wanted a baby three years ago. Spencer was a little hesitant. Then one thing after another came up. We had work obligations, like 'Celebrity Big Brother' in the U.K., which I did not want to be pregnant for," Heidi explained.
The couple had a series of scandals on MTV's reality show "The Hills" following their feud with co-star Lauren Conrad throughout the show. In 2010, Heidi admitted to having ten plastic surgeries in a single day two months prior. The "sins" they committed in the past made Heidi glad that they decided to wait longer. "I'm actually really thankful we waited. I thought I was ready in my twenties, but with everything we had going on, it just wouldn't have been a good situation for us," she said.
The 30-year-old television personality is now 12 weeks pregnant and is due October 19. The couple still has to wait a bit longer, but they're excited to know the sex of the baby. "I'm hoping for a boy. I've always wanted a boy. I'd love to have a son and for the Pratt name to continue," Heidi shared. Spencer then hinted at the possibility of having a second child.
