The 31-year-old songstress has contributed to the animated film soundtrack with a song titled 'Cut to the Feeling', which was originally set to appear on her 2016 album.

AceShowbiz - Carly Rae Jepsen is heavily involved in French-Canadian animated film "Leap!", which was first released last year under the title "Ballerina". Besides lending her voice to one of the characters, she contributed to the movie soundtrack with two songs titled "Runaway" and "Cut to the Feeling".

"Cut to the Feeling" was initially set to appear on her 2016 album "E.MO.TION: Side B". She previously said of the track, "That was definitely from the era of E.MO.TION. That was actually a contender for ['E.MO.TION: Side B'] and, originally, the first album. It was almost too cinematic and theatrical. I was like, 'If I had my way with it, this would be great for musical or movie!' "

"When 'Ballerina' came along, I met with people as I was doing the voiceover for [the character Odette] and they were showing me a couple of scenes. There was one in particular where they were like, 'We're looking for the right song for this, do you have anything?'," she said, before adding, "I was like, 'Actually, this has been in my back pocket. I've been saying it for the B-Sides, but if this works for you guys, I'd be stoked to share it.' "

The sweet and catchy vibes of "Cut to the Feeling" are well-combined with the upbeat and cheerful music. "Ah, I wanna cut through the clouds, break the ceiling/ I wanna dance on the roof, you and me alone/ I wanna cut to the feeling, oh yeah/ I wanna cut to the feeling, oh yeah/ I wanna play where you play, with the angels/ I wanna cut to the feeling/ I wanna cut to the feeling," Carly sings on the chorus of "Cut to the Feeling".

Carly plays Odette, a mysterious caretaker and former ballerina, in "Leap!". The movie follows an orphan girl, Felicie (Elle Fanning), who has a dream to be a ballerina. She flees from rural Brittany to Paris with her friend, Victor (Dane DeHaan), to pursue her dream. "Leap!" will hit U.S. theaters on August 30.
