AceShowbiz - Twenty One Pilots is already one of the winners at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Ahead of the telecast on Sunday night, March 5, the alternative hip-hop duo took home three trophies including Alternative Rock Artist of the Year.

The band also won Alternative Rock Album of the Year for their fourth studio album "Blurryface" and Alternative Rock Song of the Year for "Heathens". The song beat out Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Dark Necessities", Cage the Elephant's "Trouble" and blink-182's "Bored to Death".

Rihanna and The Chainsmokers also picked up the early awards. The "Umbrella" hitmaker won R&B Album of the Year for her eighth studio album "Anti". The electronic DJ duo, meanwhile, took home Best New Pop Artist, beating out Alessia Cara, Daya, Lukas Graham and Zayn Malik. The Chainsmokers was also nominated in 10 other categories including Song of the Year and Best Duo/Group of the Year among others.

Before the telecast aired on TV, Zayn received Best Music Video of the Year trophy for his chart-topping single "Pillowtalk". Although he couldn't be at The Forum, California to accept the award, the British heartthrob posted on Twitter a video to thank his fans.

"Hello to everyone at iHeart," he said in the video. "I'm currently in Paris, so I can't be there. A little birdie told me that I've actually won an award, so thank you very much."

He continued, "I'm very honored. To everyone that voted, it means a lot, and my co-star's actually sitting next to me right here, so she's gonna say hello as well," before Gigi Hadid suddenly popped into the frame and expressed her appreciation to the fans. "Hello guys. Thanks so much," she said before blowing a kiss.

Other early winners included Chance The Rapper, who won Best New Hip-Hop Artist, and Bruno Mars, who accepted iHeartRadio Innovator Award.
