The 'Kong: Skull Island' actor said it was very 'flattering' that people thought he would play the 007 agent.

AceShowbiz - Report said that Tom Hiddleston was among the top choices to replace Daniel Craig in case the later wouldn't reprise his role as James Bond in future James Bond movies. There were also rumors that Hiddleston would play the new doctor on "Doctor Who", replacing the outgoing Peter Capaldi.

To end the rumors once and for all, Hiddleston finally responded to the rumors and suggested that no one actually approached him to offer him the role of either the British agent or Doctor Who.

"Obviously it's very flattering that people think I'm part of the conversation," Hiddleston said to BBC Radio 1 when he did a promo for his upcoming movie "Kong: Skull Island". "Neither of those two opportunities have come my way. It's difficult, because people say, 'How would you feel if you were asked?' And you don't know because you haven't been asked," he continued.

The 007 agent was portrayed by Craig in four movies, which include "Casino Royale", "Quantum of Solace", "Skyfall" and "Spectre". It is still unknown whether or not Craig will reprise his role as James Bond in future James Bond movies. Hiddleston is one of the actors whom fans want to see as the iconic character, along with Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, Jamie Bell, Michael Fassbender, Henry Cavill and Aidan Turner.

In the meantime, we can watch Hiddleston's performance as a former British SAS captain in the upcoming "Kong: Skull Island". The movie is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 10.
