AceShowbiz - Fans might notice that "Suicide Squad" has amazing makeup and costumes like those of Jared Leto's The Joker and Jay Hernandez's El Diablo. No wonder that the movie won the Best Makeup and Hairstyling award at the 89th Annual Academy Awards held tonight (February 26). And now a never-before-seen set photo for the superhero film has surfaced online.
A makeup artist can be seen giving his final touch to Margot Robbie's character Harley Quinn in the photo obtained by China Times. But the most interesting part in the picture is the fact that the Joker's girlfriend is sporting what appears to be a wedding dress.
The dress fits the character perfectly as it also has Quinn's personal touch. Just like her hair, the right part of the dress is splattered with red paint and the left side of the dress is dyed blue. The upper part of the dress is embelished with silver sequins which make the dress look sparkly.
It's not clear whether it was supposed to be part of the "chemical wedding" that took place in the movie, or it was part of the alternative flashback from one of Enchantress' (Cara Delevingne) hallucinations that didn't make the final cut. But based on some speculations, it's also possible that this photo is from an early costume test that was scrapped entirely.
In other "Suicide Squad"-related news, Academy Award nominee Mel Gibson is rumored to direct the sequel, "Suicide Squad 2" as the previous director, David Ayer, is now developing "Gotham City Sirens". In response to the rumor, Gibson said that his negotiation with Warnes Bros. about the second installment of "Suicide Squad" was still "kind of a first date."
