The NFL and FOX have announced the country singer as the performer to sing 'The Star Spangled Banner' at Super Bowl LI.

AceShowbiz - Luke Bryan will sing the national anthem at Super Bowl LI as part of pre-game proceedings at NRG Stadium in Houston. Accompanying him will be actor Kriston Lee Pumphrey, who will perform the national anthem and "America the Beautiful" in sign language on behalf of the National Association of the Deaf.

The "Kick the Dust Up" singer will be the first male singer in ten years to sing the national anthem at Super Bowl since Billy Joel, who sang it back in 2007. Prior to Bryan, other famous singers who sang the national anthem before the game kickoff included Lady GaGa, Idina Menzel and Renee Fleming.

The 40-year-old singer took to Twitter to announce his performance at Super Bowl LI and express his excitement of joining the Super Bowl lineup. Bryan posted a short video of him announcing the news, and wrote, "Excited to perform the National Anthem on @NFL's biggest stage #SB51. See y'all in Houston."

Super Bowl LI will be held on February 5 with Lady GaGa headlining the halftime show. GaGa, who also performed the national anthem back in 2016, is reported to do something potentially dangerous for her performance. But she kept details secret as she said in an interview, "Maybe I have something small planned," before adding, "Maybe I'll just do a lemonade stand. That would really upset people though - I won't do that, don't worry."
