Ava DuVernay Shares 'A Wrinkle in Time' Behind-the-Scenes Videos
Movie

The director is working on the reimagining of Madeleine L'Engle's classic science fantasy novel, which follows the story of a girl who tries to find her father in space.

AceShowbiz - Director Ava DuVernay has tweeted ten videos from "A Wrinkle in Time" filming set. All of them are captioned with same message. "We're making a film about how Light fights The Darkness," writes DuVernay.

Storm Reid, who will play Meg Murry in the movie, is featured climbing down a ladder a la a model in one of the sneek-peeks. Other videos show the film's crew and equipment. The last one features DuVernay with her back facing the camera.

Another "A Wrinkle in Time" tweet comes from Reese Witherspoon, who will portray Mrs. Whatsit onscreen. She posts a picture of a chair with her character's name.

"A Wrinkle in Time" is based on Madeleine L'Engle's novel with the same name. It follows the story of Meg Murry, whose scientist father Dr. Murry is missing after doing some mysterious experiment. Meg later meets three peculiar beings who send her, her brother and her friend to space to find Dr. Murry.

Bellamy Young, one of the cast members, said that "A Wrinkle a Time" would embrace the novel's dark mood. "The book meant the world to me as I was growing up, so just to be a part of it at all was such an honor, but to be a part of Ava's vision of it? She has such thoughtful grace to all her work," said Young to IGN at the 2017 Television Critics Association. "She's kept all the hope but not shied away from the darkness, and I think it's going to be as magical as your own experience of the book," Young added.

DuVernay is teaming up with "Frozen (2013)" scriptwriter Jennifer Lee. Also starring in "A Wrinkle in Time" are Oprah Winfrey, Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Rowan Blanchard, Mindy Kaling, Levi Miller, Andre Holland, Michael Pena and Will McCormack. "A Wrinkle in Time" is set to be released on April 6, 2018.
