The Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling-starring musical leads the pack at this year's BAFTA Awards after winning seven prizes at the 74th annual Golden Globes.
AceShowbiz - After winning seven prizes at the 2017 Golden Globes, "La La Land" continues continues its domination at the upcoming BAFTA Awards. The full list of movie nominees has been announced by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling-starring musical leads the pack with 11 nods.
Tied for second place in terms of number are "Arrival" and "Nocturnal Animals", which earn 9 noms each. The Denis Villeneuve-directed sci-fi flick is up for Best Film and Best Director among others, with its star Amy Adams vying for Best Actress. Tom Ford's psychological thriller, meanwhile, is up for Best Actor for Jake Gyllenhaal among other categories.
This year's BAFTA Awards is expanded in some categories, including Animated Film, with "Finding Dory", "Kubo And The Two Strings", "Moana" and "Zootopia" (or "Zootropolis" as it's known in the U.K.) competing. Last year's tentpoles like Marvel's "Doctor Strange", "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" are also in contention.
The 70th annual BAFTA Awards will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on February 12, with Stephen Fry hosting.
