AceShowbiz - "La La Land" was a big winner at this year's Golden Globe Awards. After Damien Chazelle was announced as Best Director in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical, Matt Damon announced its female lead, Emma Stone, as Best Actress for her role in the musical, which was also named Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical.

When accepting the award, Stone tearfully thanked her family and friends in her speech. "This is a film for dreamers. I think that hope and creativity are two of the most important things in the world," she said. "I share this with you," she added. "Thank you."
Later on the show, Casey Affleck was announced as Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for his performance in "Manchester by the Sea". Kristen Wiig and Steve Carell previously announced Disney's "Zootopia" as Best Animated Feature Film. It defeated fellow Disney nominee "Moana" as well as "Kubo and the Two Strings", Illumination's "Sing" and French-Swiss animated movie "My Life as a Zucchini" for the prize.

While accepting the award, co-director Byron Howard said that the "Zootopia" team wanted to make a film about "embracing diversity even when there are people who want to divide us using fear." He added, "On top of all that, we still managed to fit in a joke about a sloth working at the DMV."
