The 52-year-old actor has been offered the role of the former president in a biopic, but he's reportedly worried that it 'might damage his career.'

AceShowbiz - Nicolas Cage has been offered to take the lead role in a biopic about Ronald Reagan. However, the 52-year-old actor is reportedly voicing his concerns about how the former president will be portrayed in the big screen.

Rumor has it, Cage is worried that playing Reagan in a flattering light "might damage his career." His publicist, Stephen Huvane, refused to give any comment regarding the report. "It's way too early in the development process," he told Page Six.

No additional details are known about the said Reagan biopic, including the crew and the cast list. Several projects about the 40th president of the United States are in development in the past years. The most recent one was almost headlined by Will Ferrell.

It was announced back in April that the comedian was attached to star in and produce the movie. He dropped out of the project after Reagan's son Michael lashed out prior to knowing that it would be a comedy movie. "What an Outrage," Michael tweeted. "Alzheimers is not joke...It kills..You should be ashamed all of you."
