'Logan': Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds Respond to Deadpool Cameo Rumor
Movie

Earlier today, a report said that Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool would make a brief appearance in 'Logan', but the news has been debunked by the two actors as well as director James Mangold.

AceShowbiz - Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds have crushed the hope of fans who wanted to see Wolverine and Deadpool sharing the same screen again. Earlier report said that the Merc with a Mouth would make a cameo appearance in "Logan", but "Logan" team as well as the Deadpool depicter have denied the claim.

"Logan" director James Mangold tweeted, " '@TheWrap has not reported Deadpool & Logan would appear side-by-side.' Cause Deadpool ain't in the film, pal. Keep backtracking.#fakenews."

Reynolds wrote on his own Twitter account, "Prisoner 24601 is on a solo mission." "Prisoner 24601" is a reference to Jean Valjean, a character played by Jackman in "Les Miserables".

Jackman, who plays the adamantium-clawed mutant, reposted Mangold's reply to Reynolds' tweet and added, "What they said ...."

Back in 2009, Reynolds' Deadpool made his debut in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", but his character was hardly memorable in the movie. The re-appearance of Deadpool in his standalone movie "Deadpool" has redeemed it, and it would be nicer if Wade Wilson's alter-ego also made a cameo in "Logan". But all the parties involved have said that it won't happen, at least for now.

However, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reynolds expressed his interest to have Deadpool and Wolverine together again. "I want Deadpool and Wolverine in a movie together. What we're gonna have to do is convince Hugh," he said. "If anything, I'm going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line. Hugh Jackman is one of the best human beings. Part of the reason I want to do a Deadpool/Wolverine movie is not just because I think the two would light the screen on fire but I genuinely love the guy."

"Logan", the last installment of the Wolverine movie series, will hit U.S. theaters on March 3, 2017. It also stars Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Dafne Keen, Doris Morgado, Stephen Merchant, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Richard E. Grant. Ryan Reynolds, meanwhile, will reprise his role as the titular anti-hero in "Deadpool 2" in 2018.
