Usher Joins Denzel Washington and Viola Davis at 'Fences' NYC Premiere

The 'No Limit' hitmaker was among celebrities on the guest list for the special screening of the Oscar-buzzy drama on Monday, December 19.

AceShowbiz - Oscar-buzzy drama "Fences" had its premiere on Monday, December 19 at the Rose Theater in Lincoln Center, New York City. Attending the special screening were main actors Denzel Washington and Viola Davis, who portray a married couple struggling with race relations in 1950s Pittsburgh.

Denzel and Viola were accompanied by their respective spouses while walking down the red carpet. The 61-year-old actor, who also helmed and produced the critically-acclaimed drama, attended the event with wife Pauletta, dressing in matching black outfits, while the mother of three arrived with husband Julius Tennon.

Also in attendance were Denzel and Viola's on-screen son Jovan Adepo, and co-star Stephen Henderson. Other celebrities on the guest list included Usher and Gabby Douglas. The 38-year-old singer/dancer donned a casual all-black outfit, while the 20-year-old Olympian rocked a blue see-through shirt beneath her fringe jacket.

"Fences" is coming to U.S. theaters this Sunday. It's adapted from August Wilson's 1983 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning play, about an African American father who struggles with race relations in the United States while trying to raise his family in the 1950s and coming to terms with the events of his life.

Among the supporting actors are Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson, Christopher Mele, Terri Middleton and Saniyya Sydney.
