The former astronaut, who was the first American to orbit the Earth and the oldest man in space, has died at the age of 95.

AceShowbiz - Former astronaut John Glenn passed away on Thursday, December 8. He died at the James Cancer Hospital in Colombus, Ohio after falling ill and being hospitalized there for more than a week.

John Glenn made his historic flight when he became the first U.S. astronaut to orbit the Earth in a journey, which was lasting just under five hours, in 1962. He later served in the Senate for more than two decades.
