'X-Men' Spin-Off 'Legion' Gets Premiere Date. Watch the New Trailer

FX sets February 8 as a premiere date for the Marvel series starring Dan Stevens as David Heller, a man who has been diagnosed as schizophrenic but is actually a powerful mutant.

AceShowbiz - One of the most-talked about new series, "Legion", has finally had a premiere date. FX has announced that the "X-Men" spin-off starring "Downton Abbey" alum Dan Stevens will debut Wednesday, February 8 at 10 P.M.

Along with the announcement of the premiere date, the cabler has shared a new trailer for the upcoming series. It has more scenes that show how David Haller (Stevens) slowly comes to realize that the voices inside his head are real.

"You're the key," someone tells him. "The key to what?" he asks. "Winning the war," the other man says.

"Legion" follows David Haller, a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, he has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. After a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he's confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and visions might be real.

In the comics, David is the son of X-Men founder Charles Xavier a.k.a. Professor X and Israeli Holocaust survivor Gabrielle Haller.

The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza who stars as David's friend Lenny, Jean Smart as a therapist named Melanie, Rachel Keller as a self-sufficient and street smart named Syd, and many others. Noah Hawley ("Fargo") serves as showrunner.
