AceShowbiz - Ellen DeGeneres couldn't get into the White House despite being invited. The comedienne was supposed to receive a Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Barack Obama in a November 22 ceremony, but she was apparently turned away at the door by the guard.

"They haven't let me in to the White House yet because I forgot my ID. #NotJoking #PresidentialMedalOfFreedom," the pixie-haired funnywoman informed her Twitter followers. She also tweeted a picture of her sitting on a bench outside the White House.

Ellen is among the Medal of Freedom honorees along with actor Tom Hanks and NBA star Michael Jordan. The Nation's highest civilian honor is also handed out to the likes of Robert De Niro, Robert Redford, Lorne Michaels, Diana Ross and Bruce Springsteen this year.
