Movie

Filled with gun-totting and explosive sequences, the newly-released trailer sees Affleck's Joe Coughlin who is not even fazed while being threatened by a mob boss.

AceShowbiz - Warner Bros. has unveiled the final trailer for Ben Affleck's "Live by Night". Filled with gun-totting and explosive sequences, it opens with Affleck's Joe Coughlin saying in a voiceover, "Powerful men don't have to be cruel. I got one guaranteed life. I was gonna live it. I had a plan."

One scene features Joe who is not even fazed while being threatened by a mob boss. "If that's who you think we are, you're making a fatal calculation," the mob boss says. "We're clerks and bankers and police officers and we even got a judge. And if you're dim enough to fight us, I'm gonna rain bloody hellfire down on you and all you love."

Based on Dennis Lehane's award-winning and best-selling novel, "Live by Night" follows Joe, a man who turned his back on his strict and proper upbringing and becomes an outlaw. He embarks on a dizzying journey up the ladder of organized crime that takes him from the flash of Jazz Age Boston to the sensual shimmer of Tampa's Latin Quarter to the sizzling streets of Cuba.

The crime drama was written, directed and produced by Affleck. It also stars Brendan Gleeson and Scott Eastwood as Thomas and Danny Coughlin respectively. Other cast members include Elle Fanning, Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller, Miguel, Chris Sullivan, Anthony Michael Hall and Chris Messina

"Live by Night" is coming early to a few select theaters in the United Sates on December 25 to compete in this year's Oscars as January 13 is the last day that voters can submit their nominations for the 2017 Academy Awards. It will open wide on January 13, 2017.
