AceShowbiz - "A Star Is Born" remake finally gets a release date. Warner Bros. has announced that the movie starring Academy Award nominees %cBradley Cooper%, who will also make his directing debut, and %cLady GaGa% is scheduled to be released in theaters across the U.S. on September 28, 2018.
The studio has also set release dates for "Everything, Everything" and "Rampage". The adaptation of Nicola Yoon's novel starring %cNick Robinson% ("Jurassic World") and %cAmandla Stenberg% ("The Hunger Games") is set for an August 18, 2017 release, while Dwayne "%cThe Rock%" Johnson's action thriller will open on April 20, 2018.
"Everything, Everything" will be up against Lionsgate/%cRyan Reynolds%'s "The Hitman's Bodyguard" and Sony's "Flatliners" reboot. The Rock's movie will compete with an untitled R-rated comedy from Universal on its spring release date. In "Rampage", the former wrestler will reunite with his "San Andreas" helmer, Brad Peyton, and scribe, Carlton Cuse.
Meanwhile, Cooper's "A Star Is Born" is currently the only title set on that date. In addition to being Cooper's directorial debut, the musical remake will mark GaGa's first lead role in a feature film. Both superstars are expected to begin filming in early next year in California. The screenplay is written by Will Fetters ("The Lucky One", "The Best of Me").
