The 'Can't Stop the Feeling' singer is 'under review' for taking a picture in the polling station when voting early in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.

AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake could land in jail. The singer/actor flew more than 1,700 miles from Los Angeles to his hometown of Memphis to vote early but he unwittingly broke the law for taking a ballot selfie in the polling station. He later shared the picture to his online followers on Instagram.

"Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!!" he wrote. "No excuses, my good people! There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice! If you don't, then we can't HEAR YOU! Get out and VOTE! #excerciseyourrighttovote."

The Shelby County District Attorney's Office said they were "made aware of a possible violation of election law" and "the matter is under review by the D.A.'s office." Despite his good intention to encourage people to vote, the "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer can face up to 30 days in jail and pay a $50 fine.

Ballot selfie laws were signed in Tennessee last year. The laws, however, vary throughout the United States. While taking photographs is illegal in states like New York, Florida and Alaska, it's allowed in other states like Hawaii, Virginia and Louisiana.
