Matt Healy reveals one track from his band's sophomore album 'I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful yet So Unaware of It' was almost given to the English-Irish boyband.

AceShowbiz - One of The 1975's hits from their sophomore album "I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It" almost became a One Direction song. Matt Healy reveals "The Sound" was almost given to the English-Irish boyband.

Earlier this year, Matt opened up about his disappointing studio session with One Direction and ultimately questioned the group's "artistic credibility." In an interview with Q magazine, the 1975 frontman sheds more light on that doomed collaboration.

"I went into the studio with them [One Direction] for a couple of hours to work on some stuff and, funnily enough, I ended up showing them 'The Sound' as a suggestion, but nothing came of it," he says, "I was asked to do it, so I thought I'd see how it all works but it just didn't really work very well. It didn't resonate so I thought I'd stick to my own thing."

"The Sound" would've been a completely different song in One Direction's hands.

Niall Horan recently said that the members of One Direction were focusing on their solo career, but they would definitely come back. "For now we are doing our own thing," he told Graham Norton, "We can't put a date on it but it won't be in fifty years time. It's in the foreseeable future. We've talked about it but for now we'll just play by ear and see what happens."
