'Power Rangers' Confirmed to Add Goldar as Second Villain
Movie

Another iconic villain will join Elizabeth Banks' Rita Repulsa to antagonize the Saban color-coded superheroes in the upcoming movie.

AceShowbiz - Elizabeth Banks' Rita Repulsa will not be the only villain in the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie. Speaking at the New York Comic-Con, director Dean Israelite revealed that they would also bring Goldar, the iconic monstrous creature known as Repulsa's henchman.

The actor playing Goldar was still kept under wraps. Instead, the panel discussed the grueling training for the movie. "There were a few accidents," said Naomi Scott, the Pink Ranger. "For the first time I was ever onscreen doing choreography, I literally punched someone in the face and made them bleed." R.J. Cyler, the Blue Ranger, chimed in, "And he was the nicest guy!"

They also confirmed that the Rangers would get their iconic assault vehicles, Zords. "I put them in these things, which was basically like being in a crazy roller coaster for 12 hours. I shot so much footage that we broke the record for dailies three days in a row," Israelite said of filming the Zord scene.

While the director described the filming as emotional, Cyler jokingly explained, "It was emotional because it hurt." Becky G, the Yellow Ranger, added. "I had a hard time in the Zord. Dean caught me praying in Spanish. I just wanted it to be over, it was so hard."

The "Power Rangers" reboot is due in the United States on March 24, 2017. Dacre Montgomery stars as the Red Ranger and Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger. Bryan Cranston will play Zordon and Bill Hader will lend his voice to Alpha 5.
