The actor father of Angelina Jolie insists that 'Trump's words did not hurt anyone' in response to the presidential candidate's lewd comments about women.

AceShowbiz - Jon Voight defends Donald Trump on Twitter. The 77-year-old actor comes to Trump's defense after fellow movie star Robert De Niro, 73, called out the Republican presidential candidate in an angry rant. De Niro called the GOP politician a "punk," "dog," "pig," "con," "bullsh*t artist," and "mutt."

"[Trump] doesn't know what he's talking about, doesn't do his homework, doesn't care, thinks he's gaming society, doesn't pay his taxes. He's an idiot. Colin Powell said it best - he's a national disaster. He's an embarrassment to this country. It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point that this fool, this bozo has wound up where he has," De Niro said.

"He talks how he wants to punch people in the face. Well, I'd like to punch him in the face. This is somebody that we want for president? I don't think so. What I care about is the direction of this country, and what I'm very, very worried about is that it might go in the wrong direction with someone like Donald Trump. If you care about your future, vote for it."

De Niro's scathing comment was released after Trump was caught in another controversy following the leaked tape of his lewd comments about women. In response, Voight tweeted, "I am so ashamed of my fellow actor Bobby DeNiro's rant against Donald Trump. What foul words he used against a presidential nominee who has worked harder than any other man I know in the past year and a half to get a good message to the American people."

The Republican supporter also addressed Trump's offensive remark on women, insisting that it's not a big deal. "I don't know of too many men who haven't expressed some sort of similar sexual terms toward women, especially in their younger years. Donald Trump's words were not as damaging as Robert DeNiro's ugly rant. Trump's words did not hurt anyone," he wrote.

"Can you imagine if any Republican said words like Robert DeNiro used - against Hilary Clinton or Barack Obama? All hell would break loose. I am calling for all Trump supporters to express their outrage and anger against DeNiro and all of the Republican turncoats against Trump. Let Donald Trump know we are completely behind him, and may God give him the strength to continue his calling."
