The 'AHS' horror anthology series has been renewed for a seventh season by FX to follow up the current 'Roanoke' saga.

AceShowbiz - "American Horror Story" gets an early renewal after receiving positive reviews for the sixth installment. Just a month after the new season "Roanoke" premiered, the horror anthology series is officially picked up for the seventh season by FX.

The sixth season rumored to deal with the infamous 1590s Roanoke Colony disappearance follows a couple who relocates to Roanoke Island, North Carolina. It stars Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley and Lady GaGa among others.

"Ryan, Brad and their team of remarkable writers have done an amazing job of keeping American Horror Story endlessly inventive, shocking and entertaining and we are honored to move ahead with them on the seventh installment," said FX Networks and Productions CEO John Landgraf.
