Hugh Hefner Makes Fun of Death Rumors: Tabloids Should've Told Me That I'm Sick
Celebrity

Following rumors claiming that he's 'super sick,' the Playboy founder posts on Twitter a picture of him and his wife Crystal enjoying a movie night.

AceShowbiz - There's no need to worry about Hugh Hefner. Following rumors that he's in a very poor condition, the 90-year-old Playboy mogul assured everyone on Friday afternoon, September 30 that he's perfectly okay.

Page Six was the first one to report that Hefner was "super sick" and pointed out that he hadn't made any public appearance for months. "He looks like he is down to around 90 pounds and super sick. His people are really trying to keep this under wraps. You even have to sign a confidentiality agreement to go up to see him," a source said.

The report was quickly debunked by Hefner's rep, who told the same publication that the former journalist was doing just "fine." The rep said, "It is no secret that over the past few years he has suffered with back pain that has made it a bit more challenging for him to get around, but at 90 years of age he is enjoying his life and still very involved in the day-to-day activities of editing the magazine."

However, some news outlets claimed earlier on Friday that Hefner might have died and police were even called to the Playboy Mansion. According to TMZ, the businessman himself then told the cops that he's still alive.

Later on Friday, Hefner addressed the situation in his first tweets since August. He shared a picture of him enjoying a movie night with his wife Crystal Hefner. He added in another post, "I wish the tabloids had informed me a little earlier in the week that I'm sick. I might have cancelled my weekend plans."
