The beloved character from Beatrix Potter's children's book is going to be adapted into a live-action/animated hybrid.

AceShowbiz - Peter Rabbit is coming to the big screen, according to Variety. The upcoming movie has secured James Corden as the titular character and Rose Byrne as the female lead named Bea. Daisy Ridley and Elizabeth Debicki also join the cast.

The adaptation of Beatrix Potter's beloved character is going to be directed by "Annie" helmer Will Gluck and the script is written by Rob Lieber. Meanwhile, Animal Logic ("The Lego Movie") is handling the animation for the live-action/CG hybrid.

Peter Rabbit is celebrating its 114th anniversary this year. Named after a pet rabbit the author had as a child, the character was first introduced in British children's book "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" in 1902. The movie will go into production early 2017 and hit theaters in April 2018.
