AceShowbiz - The Weeknd has a makeover for his next studio installment which is due later this year. The R&B singer announces new album "Starboy" and reveals his new look in the process. He sports a clean-cut look after chopping off his octopus dreadlock.
Before the revelation, the 26-year-old musician whose real name is Abel Tesfaye whipped clean his Instagram account. He later posted two artworks from his upcoming third studio effort. "i come alive in the fall time," he captioned one of them.
In 2015, The Weeknd talked to Rolling Stone about the story behind his unusual hairdo. "I want to be remembered as iconic and different," he said. "So I was like, 'F**k it, I'm gonna let my hair just be what it wants.' I'll probably cut it if it starts interfering with my sight. I can kind of see it right now. But if I cut it, I'd look like everyone else. And that's just so boring to me."
So the antler deadlocked mane was born, but it had its downside. "Sleeping. I wake up with neck pains sometimes. And not being able to hide myself," he explained.
