AceShowbiz - Helen Mirren is currently in negotiations to join the burgeoning cast of Disney's "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms". According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 71-year-old actress is eyed for the role of Mother Ginger in the adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffman's classic Christmas Eve tale.

If the deal is sealed, Mirren, who recently wrapped the filming on "Fast and Furious 8", will join Misty Copeland, who will tackle the lead ballerina role, and Morgan Freeman, who is cast as Drosselmeyer. She will also star alongside Keira Knightley who has been tapped as the Sugar Plum Fairy.

Young "Twilight" actress Mackenzie Foy is set to topline the adaptation of the classic ballet which will be helmed by Lasse Hallstrom. Based on a screenplay written by Ashleigh Powell, the live-action movie follows a young girl named Clara who finds a Nutcracker doll. At night, the Nutcracker comes to life along with an evil Mouse King. It leads the girl to the magical world of toys that will change her life forever.
