Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly Are Holmes and Watson in Sony's Comedy

The duo behind 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby' and 'Step Brothers' are going to reunite for a comedy inspired by Arthur Doyle's Sherlock Holmes tale.

AceShowbiz - The duo behind "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" and "Step Brothers" are going to reteam for another Sony comedy. Deadline has reported that Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly will share screen in "Holmes & Watson", a comedy inspired by Arthur Doyle's Sherlock Holmes tale. Ferrell will portray Holmes, while Reilly will play his faithful wingman, Watson.

The production is expected to begin in late November. The film will be produced by Mosaic and Gary Sanchez, Ferrell's production banner with Adam McKay. Etan Cohen, whose credits include the screenplays for "Tropic Thunder", "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" and "Men in Black 3", provides the script and is on board to helm the project. He also directed Ferrell in "Get Hard".

Ferrell was last seen on the big-screen starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in "Daddy's Home" and reprising his role as Mugatu in "Zoolander 2". He will appear in James Franco and Megan Fox-starring film "Zeroville" and reunite with Wahlberg in "Daddy's Home 2".

As for Reilly, his credits include "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Lobster". He can next be seen in "The Little Hours" along with Dave Franco and Alison Brie, and in "Kong: Skull Island" opposite Brie Larson and Tom Hiddleston. He will once again lend his voice to Ralph in the sequel to "Wreck-It Ralph".
