Green Day Tackles Gun Violence in New Single 'Bang Bang' Ahead of New Album Release

Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates address the chaotic America as they are gearing up to release their next LP 'Revolution Radio'.

AceShowbiz - Green Day is back after their triple albums in 2012. The Billie Joe Armstrong-fronted band releases a brand new single called "Bang Bang" along with its lyrics video that was inspired by the deadly mass shootings that have plagued America recently.

"It's about the culture of mass shooting that happens in America mixed with narcissistic social media," the rocker told Rolling Stone. "There's this sort of rage happening, but it's also now being filmed and we all have ourselves under surveillance. To me, that is so twisted. To get into the brain of someone like that was freaky. It freaked me out. After I wrote it, all I wanted to do was get that out of my brain because it just freaked me out."

The gun violence song is among the new materials in their next studio installment, "Revolution Radio", which is due October 7. Fans who pre-order the new album will get an instant download of the newly-released track.
