AceShowbiz - The first teaser trailer for Denis Villeneuve's "Arrival" has been released by Paramount. The video features Amy Adams' Louise Banks who is sent to an alien spacecraft to communicate with the alien. She is accompanied by an expert physicist named Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner) who helps interpret the extraterrestrials' language.

The video opens with Louise saying in voiceover, "There are days that define your story beyond your life. Like the day they arrived." She can be seen boarding a helicopter on her way to the massive spacecraft in a green field. Other scenes show Louise and Ian in full hazmat suits as they enter the spaceship. The footage ends with Colonel Weber, played by Forest Whitaker, saying, "They arrived."

Previously, USA TODAY debuted photos featuring Louise and Ian. Of portraying a "smart nerdy guy" in the upcoming sci-fi thriller, Renner said, "I thought there was a great challenge in that." Speaking to the site, Adams said that the film contains an element of reality.

Villeneuve directed the film with a script provided by "Lights Out" scribe Eric Heisserer. Based on an award-winning short story by Ted Chiang titled "Story of Your Life", it is said to be a mind-bending science fiction thriller with a powerful, emotional twist. After aliens land around the globe, a linguist is recruited by the U.S. government in a race to decipher their intentions on Earth.

Also starring Michael Stuhlbarg, Mark O'Brien, Tzi Ma and Abigail Pniowsky, "Arrival" will have its world premiere at Venice Film Festival on September 2 before coming to U.S. theaters on November 11 this year.
