AceShowbiz - Kehlani has premiered her "Suicide Squad" soundtrack "Gangsta" on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show. The song is a haunting mid-tempo love tune about Joker and Harley Quinn's relationship in the movie.
"I need a gangsta/ To love me better/ Than all the others do/ To always forgive me/ Ride or die with me/ That's just what gangsters do," Kehlani sings, "I'm f***ed up, I'm black and blue/ I'm built for it, all the abuse/ I got secrets, that nobody, nobody knows/ I'm good on, that pussy s**t I don't want, what I can get I want someone, with secrets/ That nobody, nobody, nobody knows."
"I don't think I've ever related to a character more than I related to Harley Quinn," Kehlani told Zane, "I'm so excited. I feel so blessed to even be apart of the production period." Director David Ayer, meanwhile, described the seductive slow-burner as having a "raw, broken yet strong, haunting quality to it."
"Suicide Squad: The Album", which is due out on Friday, August 5 (the same day the movie hits U.S. theaters), also features songs from Kevin Gates, Eminem, Grimes, collaborations between Skrillex and Rick Ross ("Purple Lamborghini"), Action Bronson, Mark Ronson and Dan Auerbach as well as Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and Imagine Dragons.
