Katy Perry Shares First Look at Her New CoverGirl Ad Amid Legal Battle

Hard Candy previously claimed in their suit that Katy's new CoverGirl line used similar logo design with their brand which has been trademarked for more than 10 years.

AceShowbiz - %cKaty Perry% takes to Twitter to share a first look at her new CoverGirl commercial featuring her Katy Kat collection. "FIRST [look] at my brand new @COVERGIRL commercial for the #KATYxCOVERGIRL collection!" she captions it.

The 30-second ad opens with Katy's head popping from the blue box. "Hi, welcome to the Katy Kat collection," she says while showing off her new mascara and matte lipsticks. The clip then shows the "Roar" hitmaker alongside some cute black cats. "It's not a regular cat eye," she says.

The Katy Kat Eye mascara arrives in "very Perry black" and "very Perry blue."

Earlier this month, Hard Candy sued CoverGirl's parents company Procter & Gambler for trademark infringement. The cosmetic company claimed in their suit that Katy's new CoverGirl line used similar logo design with their brand which has been trademarked for more than 10 years.

Although Katy wasn't named as one of the defendants, Hard Candy was seeking to have Katy Kat collection pulled from stores. The company also wanted a share of the profits made since the launch of the collection.
