The former 'Scandal' star was ordered to spend a month in prison and six months in rehab after failing drug tests during probation.

AceShowbiz - Columbus Short is a free man again. The former "Scandal" actor has been released from prison after being sentenced to 30 days. The 33-year-old star violated his probation terms, which stemmed from an assault case back in 2014, by doing drugs.
Short is also ordered to check into rehab for six months after he was tested positive for marijuana. His lawyer tried to convince judge to get his client leverage, reasoning that he was grieving after his sister died a week prior, but the judge didn't buy it.
The actor has been open about his struggle with drug abuse. "I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was using unhealthy ways to kind of self-medicate and deal with a lot of heavy duty stuff in my life," he said in an interview. "I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then."
