Cindy Crawford, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elle Fanning and Melissa Benoist also read the lyrics of the songs like 'Diamonds and Pears' and 'Kiss', or sing them for a video released by W magazine.

AceShowbiz - Some of Hollywood's big names paid musical tribute to Prince on his birthday. On the day the late singer would've turned 58, W magazine released a video of a handful of A-list actors either dramatically reading the lyrics to some of the Purple One's biggest hits or showing off their vocal chops by singing them.

Those appearing in the one-and-a-half-minute clip include Kit Harington, Cindy Crawford, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Rami Malek who choose to read the lyrics. Meanwhile, Chris Evans passionately sings "Diamonds and Pearls" as Elle Fanning and Melissa Benoist surprise viewers when they belt out "Kiss".

Prince tragically passed away at his home in Minnesota on April 21 at the age of 57. Medical examiners found that his sudden death was caused by an accidental overdose of fentanyl, an opioid many times more powerful than heroin usually prescribed to manage unbearable pain in cancer patients or after surgeries. Prince had been suffering from hip pain prior to his death, but it's still unknown if he had a prescription.
