AceShowbiz - Freddie Gibbs slams the rape allegations. The rapper was arrested in France in connection with a rape that allegedly took place in Austria in 2015. He was taken into custody shortly before his gig at Le Rex in Toulouse.
The 33-year-old hip-hop star whose real name is Fredrick Tipton is reportedly facing extradition to Austria. He showed up in a French court for a hearing on Friday, June 3 and revealed his plan to fight the extradition.
"Freddie Gibbs adamantly denies the allegations that have been levied against him by Austrian authorities," his lawyer says. "It makes you wonder why it took almost a year for Austrian officials to bring these charges. Freddie will be fighting the extradition request as these are nothing more than trumped up charges."
Before he was arrested, Freddie performed in Paris. He still has two more shows in France. He's also scheduled to take stage in U.K., Portugal and Canada.
