The 'Walking Dead' comic book writer backtracks his statement in which he said that he's 'disappointed' at the 'Game of Thrones' novel author.

AceShowbiz - Robert Kirkman, best known for his "The Walking Dead" comic books which have been turned into AMC's hit series of the same title, recently had a say about "Game of Thrones" book author George R. R. Martin and it's not a nice one. The former criticized the latter for revealing the ending of his "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga to "Thrones" writers.

"I would never do that," Kirkman said when asked if he would ever reveal the ending of "The Walking Dead" to the show's writers. "That's the one thing I'm disappointed in George R. R. Martin for doing. He should have just been like, 'F**k you. You make it up now, I'll get mine when I'm ready.' "

Realizing that his choice of word could lead to a controversy, Kirkman has now clarified the statement. " 'Disappointed' is probably the wrong word. I was just joking about how I would have handled that situation. Love GOT, love GRRM," he wrote on Twitter Thursday, June 2.

Admitting that he's also a fan of the HBO series, Kirkman added in another post, "George RR Martin is a far better writer than I'll ever be. And I'm loving the new season of Game Of Thrones. It's my favorite show on TV!"

Martin indeed shared to "Thrones" showrunners how his books would end since the TV series has gone past the point at the end of his last book "A Dance with Dragons". Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss recently revealed that Martin shared "three holy s**t moments," two of which have been seen in season 5 and 6 respectively. As for the third huge twist, Benioff teased, "... is from the very end...."
