Phil Lord and Chris Miller's 'Spider-Man' Movie May Feature Miles Morales

The fan-favorite Hispanic character in the comic books reportedly would be the focus of the 2018 animated feature.

AceShowbiz - Miles Morales could be the center of the new "Spider-Man" movie. It has been reported that the animated version, coming from directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller, will be featuring the fan-favorite webslinger.

The character is applauded for making Spider-Man racially diverse. It has been head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige's intention to create a film centering on the Black Hispanic teen who became a successor to Peter Parker in the comic books. "Miles, I think, is awesome. There are opportunities for him, for sure, if this all works," Feige said last year.

The idea is inching closer to reality now that Heroic Hollywood has made a report about it. The working titles are reportedly "Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man" and "The Ultimate Spider-Man: Miles Morales". Sony is yet to make an official announcement but no other details from the upcoming Spidey feature are released as well.

Miller shared a bit about the project in August last year, "It is not just another Peter Parker origin story that you've seen 400 times. It is something totally unique and different and not like anything you've seen. That's all I can say... and you're going to love it!"

The untitled animated Spider-Man movie is scheduled to debut on December 21, 2018.
